Key responsibilities

  • Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable software.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, suitable for manufacturing handoff.
  • Design for a variety of manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding.
  • Perform CAD validation and quality assurance reviews to ensure model accuracy and readiness for production use.
  • Prepare clear, concise technical documentation and assembly instructions as reference materials for AI model training.
  • Incorporate feedback from technical reviewers to revise and improve CAD models and supporting documents.

Preferred qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software for advanced modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation.
  • Hands-on exposure to sheet metal, CNC, plastics, and injection molding design considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices.
  • Proven ability to produce production-grade CAD models and validate them against real-world manufacturability criteria.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity in documentation and collaborative exchanges.
